December 2025: Updates From The Field

As we begin the new year, we want to share highlights from December, how we closed out 2025, and reflect on the continued work of our teams supporting Christian families around the world. Throughout December, our focus remained on practical, long-term solutions: education, food security, livelihoods, and community safety that help families remain rooted and move toward stability.

Here are the highlights from December:

IRAQ

Orphanage Support

In Northern Iraq, more than 450 Christian children were left orphaned after years of conflict. Our team in Iraq partnered with local monasteries to support the priests caring for these children, providing resources for education programs and helping cover essential expenses. By investing in their schooling and daily needs, this initiative aims to give these children the foundation for a brighter future.

Solar Power for Community Safety

In Qaraqosh Province, northern Iraq, our team partnered with the municipality of Sarsing to install solar panels on electricity poles, powering street lamps and providing diesel for patrol trucks. This initiative helps protect around 700 Christian residents by supporting nightly patrols and creating a safer environment in a region still threatened by heavy extremist activity.

KENYA

Agriculture Project Follow-Up

Our team conducted follow-up visits to crop production sites in Osingo Village, Migori, and Mapashe Village. Despite below-average rainfall since October, the community volunteer farmers remain optimistic as crops continue to develop, with expectations for a productive harvest.

Green Peak Academy Expansion

Renovation work and new classroom construction are underway at Green Peak Academy to accommodate incoming Grade 6 students. This expansion will benefit approximately 60 students by providing improved learning spaces and allowing the school to continue offering consistent, high-quality education.

LEBANON

Bakery Project Now Operational

Our bakery project in Lebanon is now fully operational, providing affordable, fresh bread and other baked goods to Christian communities impacted by conflict and economic hardship. This project is helping feed around 2,500 Christians per month. In addition to meeting daily food needs, the bakery has created local jobs for 15 families and a sustainable source of income.

NIGERIA

Sewing Program Graduation

Our latest cohort of 15 girls in Nigeria successfully completed their sewing training, graduating on December 18th. Through a year of hands-on instruction, they gained practical skills that will enable them to begin supporting themselves and their families.

SYRIA

Supporting Christian Workers in the Suburbs of Damascus

In the Christian suburbs of Damascus, our team organized a large exhibition to support local farmers, artisans, and food producers. Over 250 families — around 1,500 Christians — received a spot to showcase their products to more than 10,000 visitors, providing both income and exposure for their small businesses.
