Iraq
Iraq continues to recover from years of conflict, terrorism, and sectarian violence. Over 1.5 million Iraqis remain displaced, and 2.7 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. The ISIS insurgency, ongoing conflicts, and regional instability have devastated communities, with over 1.3 million children lacking access to basic education and healthcare. Nearly 4 million Iraqis face food insecurity.
Initiatives
2025
School Reconstruction (January 2025)
We reconstructed an abandoned school due to war damage. The school serves around 150 students affected by the ongoing conflict between Turkish and Kurdish forces near Sharanesh, where many Christian families reside.
Another School Reestablishment (March 2025)
Another education program in North Iraq supports 200–300 Christian students who lost up to two years of school due to conflict. Our team rebuilt a local school, employed teachers from the community, and helped students catch up.
Retrieving and Replanting Christian Lands (April 2025 – Present)
This project returned confiscated lands to Christians in Northern Iraq. Restoring these lands allowed 30 farmers to resume cultivation and created jobs for about 200 workers, reviving 5,000 almond trees and 3,000 grapevines.
Supporting Assyrian Christians After ISIS Attack (April 2025)
After ISIS attacked Assyrian Christians during their Assyrian Day celebrations in Duhok, our team visited the injured, provided support, and restored water to homes and fields after the war destroyed the entire water system.
Supporting Christian Farmers (May 2025)
A cultivation project that supported 35 Christian farmers by preparing their lands and assisting with spring planting. Around 200 people benefited, and the cultivated lands provided ongoing planting opportunities over the next three to four years.
Library and After School Support (July 2025 – Present)
In the once-devastated Christian town of Tal Kayf, our team created a library and after-school tutoring center, equipping over 300 children and adults with laptops, books, and vital resources for learning and growth.
