Kenya

A Nation Facing Complex Challenges

Kenya is grappling with a mix of political instability, poverty, and the impacts of climate change, which are contributing to a growing humanitarian crisis. Over 4 million people are currently facing food insecurity, and more than 3 million are displaced due to internal conflicts and natural disasters, particularly in regions like the northeast and parts of the Rift Valley. Christian communities, particularly in the northeastern regions, face ongoing persecution, with churches attacked and believers targeted by extremist groups. These challenges have created a deeply vulnerable population struggling with both survival and basic services.

2025 Initiatives:

  • Supporting Education at Green Peak Academy, Kenya (January 2025 - Present): We collaborate with Green Peak Academy, an educational institution serving over 100 students up to fifth grade. Our support helps sponsor vulnerable students, providing essential resources such as school uniforms, books, and tuition, easing the financial burden on their families. Green Peak Academy stands out for its commitment to inclusivity and bridging gaps in educational access, serving as a model for other institutions aiming to empower disadvantaged communities. We are incredibly proud of our team in Kenya for their dedication to working alongside the academy to uplift and support young students facing adversity.
  • Supporting Students and Families in the Central Region (February 2025): Our team visited Mucibao, Karoroha, and Witeithya Comprehensive Schools and identified 17 households and 48 students struggling with basic needs. Harsh weather and financial hardships prevented many children from attending school, while families faced food insecurity, inadequate shelter, and limited healthcare. To address these challenges, we subsidized housing, provided food supplies and seeds, helped families rent small plots of land, covered school fees, uniforms, and books, and sponsored a school feeding program for one term.
  • Baking and Pastry Training (April 2025): Our team visited Eddycate Enterprises vocational training center in Ruiru, Kiambu County, enrolling fifteen vulnerable individuals in courses focused on the pastry industry. Seven participants came from informal settlements in Dandora and Njiru, while the remaining eight were from surrounding regions. The initiative aimed to equip these individuals with practical skills and knowledge to thrive in a high-demand industry, increasing their chances of employment and breaking the cycle of poverty.
  • Hairdressing Training for Vulnerable Individuals (April 2025): Our organization partnered with Queen Hairdressing College in Kikuyu, Kiambu County, to enroll ten vulnerable girls in a program designed to provide skills in hairdressing. The initiative equipped students with practical training in cutting, styling, and coloring, alongside lessons in customer service, business management, and entrepreneurship. This collaboration aimed to empower participants from marginalized communities, offering opportunities for sustainable employment and financial independence. By investing in their education and training, we helped these students build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
  • Farming Support for Vulnerable Households (April 2025): We supported twenty-three households across Migori, Nyandarua, and Kajiado Counties by providing seeds and farming equipment to promote food self-sufficiency and reduce poverty. This initiative strengthened agricultural productivity, encouraged community collaboration, and empowered families to build sustainable livelihoods. It now serves as a model for similar efforts aimed at improving food security and fostering long-term stability across Kenya.
  • Education Support for Vulnerable Students (April 2025 - Present): Our organization launched an initiative to support needy households by covering school fees, providing nutritious meals, and supplying essential stationery to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Initially, 150 students benefited from this program, receiving financial aid, school supplies, and daily meals that helped them stay focused on their education. As awareness grew, an additional 40 students joined, reflecting the deep need for continued support. By easing financial burdens and ensuring access to education, this initiative is helping vulnerable children thrive academically and giving hope to families striving for a better future.
  • Matepes Village Humanitarian Aid (April 2025): Our team visited Matepes Village in Rombo, Kajiado County — a small, remote community brought to our attention through social media posts showing children living in difficult conditions. Upon arrival, we provided immediate relief by distributing food, clothing, and other essential items to the children and families most in need, bringing smiles and hope to many faces. Beyond emergency aid, we encouraged the community to pursue sustainable sources of income such as farming, education, and vocational training to build long-term self-reliance.
  • Agriculture Project Supporting Green Peak Academy (May 2025):
We harvested our farm in Osingo North Village which flourished, with maize, beans, sweet potatoes, cassava, avocados, bananas, and traditional vegetables growing across seven hectares. The abundant harvest supported the lunch feeding program for over 150 students at Green Peak Academy in Migori County. We harvested 40 sacks of maize, 15 sacks of beans, and a variety of other crops, contributing not only to feeding students but also to our goal of self-sustainable growth.
  • Sponsorship of Five Nursing Students (May 2025): Our team visited students from vulnerable families at Trans-Mara Kenya Medical Training College in Narok County. The project supported five students—Leah, Vivian, Susan, Vanessa, and Edwin—pursuing certificates in community health nursing. The training equipped them with skills in maternal and child health, emergency care, and health education, preparing them to serve their communities and improve local healthcare access.
  • Textbook and Learning Material Distribution (June 2025): Our team distributed over 600 textbooks and learning materials to schools in areas where there is a lack of resources. In communities where access to basic educational resources is limited, this initiative helped provide the tools students need to learn, succeed, and contribute to the growth of their communities.
  • Eye Medical Camp (June 2025): Our team helped facilitate a recent eye medical camp, organized in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kenya and supported by the Red Cross, where 900 individuals received eye exams and treatment. In addition to coordinating the event, we provided food and refreshments for all participants, ensuring their comfort while accessing care. This initiative brought much-needed support to rural communities, restoring sight, independence, and quality of life for many who had never received proper eye care before.
  • Empowering 50 Farming Households (July 2025): In Osingo Village, 50 farming households grew maize, beans, avocados, and sweet potatoes, while also raising livestock and planting trees, but faced limited water, poor access to seeds and tools, and high supply costs. Our team provided water management solutions, modern farming tools, high-quality seeds, and fertilizers, boosting productivity, improving harvests, and supporting a more secure future for these farmers and their families.
  • Training and Equipping Farmers (August 2025): Our team supported 80 local farmers by providing seeds, fertilizer, and practical training in sustainable and efficient farming techniques. This project equipped them to increase productivity, improve food security, and build long-term economic stability for their families and communities.
  • Poultry Farming Empowerment (August 2025): We met with 54 members of local self-help groups, providing them with both training and resources to promote self-reliance through poultry farming. Each group received ten one-month-old chicks, along with practical instruction in care, feeding, and market management.
  • Continued Farmer Support (September 2025): We supported 40 more farmers by providing maize seeds and fertilizers, helping to strengthen their harvests and improve food security. This assistance also enabled the farmers to apply more sustainable practices, increase crop yields, and generate greater income for their families, contributing to long-term community resilience.
